I’ve developed really intense feelings for someone who I know intellectually is not a good match for me, but I can’t seem to stop thinking about them or hoping that things might work out between us. This person has made it clear they’re not interested in a relationship, and we’re incompatible in several important ways, but my heart doesn’t seem to want to accept what my brain already knows. How do you get over someone when your feelings are stronger than your logic? What are some practical ways to move on from an unhealthy infatuation?
You have to starve the fantasy, plain and simple. Go cold turkey: block their number, hide their social media, and force yourself to focus on the reality of why they aren’t right for you. I learned the hard way that you can’t build a life on wishful thinking.
